Aviation. Improved.

Five ways to put a career in flying to work from home, with light red tape and a community we can reach on day one.

A private brief for Jon from Will, October 2026

The brief

Your experience can earn without a hangar.

Jon, after our conversation I thought about how your experience, matched with my skills, could earn without a hangar, a charter certificate, or any risk to family time.

What follows are five directions we could take together. Each can start small and from home, and every one of them builds an audience for your facility when it opens.

Will

The hangar can wait. The knowledge can’t.

On starting small

How we chose

Four rules every idea had to pass.

No aircraft operated for hire

Nothing that needs a certificate, a fleet, or on-demand flying.

No handling buyers' money

No brokering, no escrow, no custody of anyone's funds.

No claims of FAA approval

Supplemental training and tools, never official credit.

A community from day one

Pilots and instructors we can already reach.

Light on red tape. Heavy on craft.

On the guardrails

One idea we set aside

The radio trainer, reconsidered.

Practising radio calls before keying the mic was a good instinct. So good that the field filled up fast in 2026: several AI controller apps launched or expanded this year, and at least one airline-backed academy has built one into its curriculum.

It works better as a feature inside the ventures below than as a product on its own.

The best pilots fly every flight twice: once in their mind, once in the air.

On chair-flying

The five

Five places to begin.

Mental performance for pilots

Training for the mind in the cockpit: composure under startle and surprise, checkride nerves, workload, and the calm aerobatics demands. Framed the way athletes train, not as therapy.

The gap
Aviation treats the mental side as either a health matter pilots fear reporting, or not at all. In a 2022 study, 56% of pilots said they had avoided care in some way. Performance training is a door pilots will actually walk through.
Why us
Your safety-aerobatics credibility, plus my background in flow-state and mental performance training, organized as a belt-style progression.
Red tape
LowStays in the training lane: no clinical claims, and it points people to peer support or professional help when they need more.

Chair-flying and maneuver visualization

Import an aerobatic sequence and watch it flown in 3D inside the box, wind drift included. Drill memorization, then chair-fly with your voice calling the cues. Extend it to stalls, steep turns and the pattern for student pilots.

The gap
OpenAero is the free standard for designing sequences and does that job well. Nobody owns the step after design: rehearsal.
Why us
Your specialty, plus my 3D visualization and interface work. The way in is aerobatic club chapters and your own network.
Red tape
Very lowA practice tool that complements existing software rather than competing with it.

The independent CFI's pocket office

Scheduling, progress against checkride standards, endorsements, invoicing, and a beautiful progress page for the student. Built for freelancers teaching in the customer's own airplane.

The gap
The big platforms are built for flight schools. Independents juggle a scatter of small apps with few users: a fragmented market with no clear winner.
Why us
You've lived this pain, and you'll use it yourself once your facility opens.
Red tape
LowEndorsements are legal records, so you own and verify all regulatory wording.

Aircraft sale presentation studio

A seller uploads photos and logbook scans and gets a polished single-aircraft page, an auto-generated video reel, and a spec sheet to post on every marketplace.

The gap
The big listing marketplaces feel stuck in another era. Trade-A-Plane's iOS app rates 1.85 stars and hasn't been updated since 2018, yet sellers are told good photos and video sell faster and for more.
Why us
You know what serious buyers look for; I build the presentation engine. Your owner network is the first customer base.
Red tape
Very lowA marketing service only: no brokering, no escrow. The fastest path to revenue.

Your teaching, packaged

Short, beautifully produced courses drawn from your one-on-one style: spin and upset awareness, tailwheel transition prep, a rusty-pilot return program, and an introduction to aerobatics. A video channel builds the audience.

The gap
Generic ground school is plentiful. Personal, specialist instruction is the rarer thing.
Why us
Your knowledge and voice, plus my production and design. This is the engine that feeds the other four.
Red tape
Very lowSupplemental education. Official credit is an optional later step, not a requirement.

Where we'd start

Three moves, in order.

  1. A short call

Rank these five by the pain you felt most personally. Your gut reaction is the best market research we have.

  2. Lead with chair-flying

It's where your specialty and my design work overlap most, it's small enough to ship well, and it's a corner of aviation where we could quickly be the best.

  3. Run the sale studio alongside

The fastest path to early income, and every venture can live under one brand, each one pointing toward your facility.

The mark

How the mark came to be.

Eight pages trace the identity from its first sketch to today, with four tall formats for banners, badges, signage and screens.

On partnership

Partnership, not a contract: we stay kind, focused and communicative, and see where it flies.
